[Sermon]: Going Higher (34) – Pastor Adeboye

Going Higher (34) – Pastor Adeboye

RCCG Special Sunday Service

Topic: Going Higher (part 34)

Text: 1 Kings 18:41

Learnings from the text:

1. After a drought of three and a half years, the Israelites got the promise of rain. What should have followed is Thanksgiving.

Why must we thank God?

• Because God has helped you. 1 Samuel 7:12

. through your many trials

Yet, you survived. Psalm 124

For where there's life, there's hope. Ecclesiastes 9:4, Psalm 42:5

• We should thank God rather than count what we think we don't have. Psalm 103: 1-5

2. Elijah was the only one who heard the sound of the abundance of rain.

• Elijah was the only one able to hear from God. John 10:27, Revelation 2:7

• In an atmosphere of worship and thanksgiving, it is not uncommon to hear God speak. Proverbs 20:12

• God is willing to speak to those who draw near to Him, and are willing to listen. Amos 3: 7-8

3. One of the signs of genuine prophecy is that it is almost unbelievable because it seems too difficult.

+ The parting of the red sea. Exodus 14: 1-28,

+ The jar of oil that didn't cease. 2 Kings 4: 1-7

+ The miracle of fruitfulness for the Shunamite woman. 2 Kings 8-17

+ Famine in Israel. 2 Kings 7

+ The prophecy of a virgin to give birth to a son. Isaiah 7:40

• When God speaks, it doesn't make sense.

Because a miracle does not make sense, and God does not deal with the senses.

I prophesy Everyone of you who is a child of God, your tomorrow will be alright.

Your future shall be glorious, and it shall be greater than you think.

Salvation Call:

If you're not a child of God but want God to speak to your future that all may be alright, surrender to Him now.

Call unto God, and ask Him for mercy. Tell Him to make you His, and to save your soul.
