RCCG Officially Announces The Exit Of Former General Superintendent, Pa Abiona

The Redeemed Christian Church Of God, RCCG, has officially announced the glorious exit of its retired Deputy General Overseer of the mission, Pastor J.H Abiona who transited to glory on new year's eve, 31st December 2021.

An official statement released by the RCCG Public Relations office confirms the demise of the revered man of God.

Pastor J.H Abiona was one of the respected elders of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. 

He became the acting General Superintendent of the mission after the founder's demise, Pa Josiah Akindayomi.

Pa Abiona handed over the church leadership from the Late Akindayomi of blessed memory to the current General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye.

He was used mightily by God to control the conspiracy of people who were eager to lead the church despite being aware of God's plan and choice.

Pa Abiona was respected by many for his humility and commitment to God's work and is known as one of the chosen few to pray for Pastor Adeboye and his wife during church programmes.

In an interview before his demise, Pastor Abiona glorified God on his insistence to do his will and how people have been able to see Pastor Adeboye as God's choice.

"I thank God that we insisted on doing God's will, and today everyone can see that the successor was God's choice."

With gratitude to God and total submission to His will, the Redeemed Christian Church of God regrets to announce the passing unto glory of our beloved father in the Lord, the Deputy General Overseer, Pastor J. H. Abiona who passed to glory on Friday the 31st December 2021.

He is survived by his biological family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and many spiritual children.

Further arrangements for his final rite as agreed by the family will be announced later.

We pray for the Lord to comfort the entire family and the church at this time.
