Mercy Chinwo bags the Best Gospel category awards at the just concluded 2021 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA).

The organizers of the prestigious awards disclosed the winners for each category of the awards over the weekend via their official platforms.



Confirming the news on her page, Mercy Chinwo is all grateful for another milestone, dedicated the award to the glory of God. The 'Excess Love' singer also acknowledged the organizers of the awards.

Mercy Chinwo clinched the awards by beating top Nigerian gospel artistes, Sinach and Tim Godfrey, including other African counterparts, Joe Mettle, Miguel Buila, Icha Kavons, Diana Hamilton, and DJ Kerozen.

Christian Feeds recalls that Mercy Chinwo won the 2020 AFRIMMA Best Gospel Artiste Awards after vying with Tim Godfrey, Benjamin Dube, and Diana Hamilton.



Mercy Chinwo's involvement in music at a very early age launched her into singing. She released her debut single 'Testimony' in 2015, followed by numerous other hit songs. She is widely known for her hit single, 'Excess Love', which earned her national and international recognition.

Mercy Chinwo is one of the most sought-after young gospel artists in Nigeria, and she is gradually creating a landmark for herself in the music industry.

The African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) is fuelled by the quest to celebrate African music and African music artists. Since its inception, it has consistently uplifted African music on the world stage, and the 2021 edition promises to be historic.



AFRIMA debuted in Lagos state, Nigeria on 27th December 2014. It was established in collaboration with the African Union to reward and celebrate musical works, talents, and creativity around the African continent and promote the African cultural heritage.
